Built From Lived Experience, Not Theory
Obportum was not created from a theory. It was shaped through decades of leadership experience, hard-earned insight, and a simple but persistent question: Why do capable leaders struggle most when uncertainty is highest?
Across organizations and sectors, a pattern emerged. When complexity increased and control diminished, leadership often shifted. Confidence gave way to reactivity. Blame replaced clarity. Even strong leaders defaulted to behaviours that did not align with their values or intent.
That realization came into sharp focus during the COVID-19 community response. The difference was not resources or intelligence – it was how leaders processed uncertainty, navigated complexity, and led themselves under pressure.
